September Scholarships
ACT
Workshop – Focus on Learning Center in Columbia,
Missouri is holding a one-day training course for students.
The training provides an overview of all four ACT sub-tests:
English, reading, math, and science; offers specifics for
taking the new optional writing test; teaches students specific
strategies for each test; and gives students the opportunity
to practice using authentic ACT tests. $100.00 per student

Drury
University Bright Night 2005 – On Sunday, September
18 activities will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a campus tour.
Then students will have a pizza party with current students,
will have time to explore campus, and will spend overnight
in the residence halls. Monday, September 19 students will
have breakfast, meet with a faculty member, attend an honors
program presentation, attend an Alpha class, and have lunch.

University Hammons School of Architecture – Architecture
Awareness Day is Friday, October 21st. Students may attend
architecture classes and design studios, may discuss emerging
career trends, learn about educational and professional requirements
for licensure, may tour displays of student work, and may
talk with alums, faculty, and students. Students may submit
an application on this day and the application fee will be
waived.

Reserve Association Essay Contest – Students
in grades seven through twelve may enter the essay contest.
This year’s theme is “What My Vote Will Mean to
Me.” The essay must not exceed 350 words and must be
legible written or typed on one side of the paper.

NFAA
(National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts) Awards
- $10,000, $5,000, $500,000, and $3,000,000 in awards to be
given.

Presidential
Classroom – July 15-22 Juniors of Seniors may
be nominated to attend the Presidential Classroom. This program
gives student leaders from around the world the opportunity
to explore issues of international relations, diplomacy and
the changing world economy. Cost $1,250
Regional
College Fair – Tuesday, October 4th, from 4:30
– 7:30 at the University Plaza Convention Center, Springfield,
MO. Over 100 representatives from a variety of colleges and
universities will be present.
SAE
Engineering Scholarships – All applicants must:
be a high school senior at the date of application, intend
to earn a degree in engineering or a related science, be a
citizen of the United States at the time of application, meet
minimum requirements with regard to grade point average, SAT
and/or ACT scored as outlined in the individual requirements
of each scholarship.

State University Fall Premiere – During the Pall
Premiere representatives from various activities and organizations
will be available to answer your questions about co-curricular
opportunities, student volunteers will conduct tours of campus,
and students will have the opportunity to explore several
of Truman’s residential facilities. Registration required.

University
of Missouri – Rolla Open House – UMR will
offer its Fall Open House on October 15 and again on November
12th. Smaller visit days will be Miner Days October 3, October
17, October 21, and October 28th.
