| The Board of Education
of the Willow Springs School R-IV School District met on September
12th at 7:00 pm in the conference room.
One of the main items
of discussion was attendance. As of September 2005 the total
enrollment for the 2005 school year was 1286 students which
is up from 1247 students in September 2004. The average daily
attendance of the elementary school was reported at 97.03%,
494 students; the middle school at 97.8%, 422 students; and
the high school at 94.78%, 391 students.
Representatives from
the food service department were also present and gave an
update on their program. The School Board also toured the
Traveling Learning Center (TLC) and Sherry Owens gave an overview
of the activities involving the TLC.
Jerry Walters, district
technology director, gave a report of the accomplishments
and activities planned in the technology department. Lastly,
Curriculum Director Jimalee James gave a report on the MAP
scores from the 2004-2005 school year.
Willow Springs is also
hosting the Region 15 Missouri School Board Association (MSBA)
conference in Grimes Auditorium on Tuesday, September 27th.
It will begin at 6:30 pm, but registration will start at 6:00
pm.
