Attention all FFA members. Today’s Chapter FFA meeting will be at the Ag building during both lunches. Please listen carefully to these instructions:
Step1: please go to the commons at the bell for first lunch.
Step 2: sack lunches will be by Amanda's office so please use the breakfast computer by Amanda's office to get a lunch. Talburt or Walden will be there to direct you.
Step 3: board the bus outside the front entrance to the high school.
 
The Anatomy & Physiology cadaver trip to St. Louis is scheduled for Friday, February 21st. Students planning to attend need to bring their $27 by  Wednesday (Feb 5th). Please talk to Mrs. Hatch if you have any concerns about this.

2.  Congratulations to the Willow chess team on another great performance at Willow Open chess tourney! In Middle school division, Abigail Wills won first individual, Isaac Miller and John Moore tied for second, Daniel Iacovlev tied for 7th. Together, they won the first team honors.
In Junior High, Josiah Wills tied for first, Vivienne Iacovleva tied for 5th individual place, and together with Jeffrey Brasier, they were fourth team. Thank you for your hard work and thank you for showing up! Galena is next on Feb 8.

10. Starting next Wednesday, there will be a random acts of kindness club after school. The main goal of this club is to spread kindness throughout the school and community. There will be two branches: a club for 5th and 6th graders and a club for 7th and 8th graders.The 5th and 6th graders will meet on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month and the 7th and 8th graders will meet on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month. The club will meet from 3:15 to 4:15. If you are interested, and in 5th or 6th grade, please get a permission slip from Miss Stacey in the office and have it signed by your parents and returned to the office by next Tuesday afternoon.

FCCLA Safety Fact of the Day:  When used properly, seat belts reduce the risk of fatal injury to front seat passengers by 45 percent and the risk of moderate to critical injury by 50 percent.   
 
Today is GAP. Go to the cafeteria when you hear the all-call or the bell rings and pick up your lunch. There will be a Stu-Co Meeting on Friday during Bear Times to discuss Hoop Queen in Mr. Knapp’s room. All members should attend.
 
Willow Open chess tournament is this Saturday, in the Bears Den. We'll start at 9am, done by 3:30. Cost is $7. All chess team members need to show up and play. Concessions will be available. See Serghei for more info.

MIDDLE SCHOOL:
  • Today:  Corn Dog, Green Beans, Cottage Cheese, Blueberries & Milk
  • Tuesday Breakfast: Biscuit/Gravy, Diced Peaches, Orange Juice & Milk
  • Tuesday Lunch:  Meatball Sub, Corn on the Cob, Doritos, Carrots, Grapes & Milk

1.   Students:
      Do not bring bottles of perfume, body spray, or any other substance with a strong smell into the building.  These can set off asthma attacks for students with that condition. If found, these will be taken and disposed of--you will not get them back.

2.   Starting next Wednesday, there will be a random acts of kindness club after school. The main goal of this club is to spread kindness throughout the school and community. There will be two branches: a club for 5th and 6th graders and a club for 7th and 8th graders.The 5th and 6th graders will meet on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month and the 7th and 8th graders will meet on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month. The club will meet from 3:15 to 4:15. If you are interested, and in 5th or 6th grade, please get a permission slip from Miss Stacey in the office and have it signed by your parents and returned to the office by next Tuesday afternoon.  

3.   Attention 8th Graders:  Please join us for the next Weird Science Wednesday this week, January 15th from 3-5:00 pm.  Please see Mrs. Binkley or Mrs. Pollard for more details. Hope to see you there!

4.   Attention 5th grade students:  This Wednesday Mrs. Hopper will keep the computer lab open on Wednesday's during normal after school tutoring times, 3:00-4:15.  Please let her know if you plan to stay and bring a note from your parent/guardian indicating how you will be picked up, walk or pick-up.  If you have any questions, see Mrs. Hopper during your class time or between classes.

5.   Wednesday January 15th: Any 5th and 6th grade girls interested in playing Club Bear Volleyball there will be a meeting with Coach Johnson in the Old Gym during recess.

6.   Art Club will meet Thursday Jan 16th.

7.   Knights of Columbus Free Throw Contest will take place on Jan 18th in the Bear's Den at 10:00 a.m. This contest is for boys and girls ages 9-14. See Mr. James for more information.
