1. 8th grade students:  if you have immunization records please get those to the office ASAP!  If immunization records are not received, starting September 3rdyou will not be allowed at school.

2.  Next week is Homecoming Week!!  This year's theme is the musical "Grease".  Please note as with all Spirit weeks before, no face painting allowed. Hats will be permitted when they fit a particular day's theme.  Students will be expected to be 100% cooperative with teacher direction in all cases when hats need to be removed during class.

Monday:  Neon & Chrome.  Wear neon, fluorescent or metallic colors.
Tuesday:  Bandstand Dance-Off.  Dress to impress with your nicest clothes.  (ALSO PICTURE DAY)
Wednesday:  Run with the Cool Kids.  Girls wear pink, boys wear black.
Thursday:  Greased Lightening.  Dress like the class of '59!  Poodle skirts, tight-roll jeans, white t-shirts.
Friday:  Maroon & White.

3.  Picture Day:  Tuesday, September 1st.  Remember to take your order forms home today!!

4.  Chess Club meeting is TODAY and every Thursday in the HS library from 3 until 4:30 pm.  All members and those who would like to find out more are encouraged to be there.

4.       Just a reminder to be sure and PICK up your picture form in your English Class TODAY or Friday. . .TAKE THE FORM HOME!.  Don't lose it - we didn't get many extras!

5.       Students: There is a possibility of having a pep bus to Marionville for the football game on Friday night. If you would like to go, please sign up at the office window. There must be a minimum of 20 students riding, in order to send a bus. DEADLINE IS NOON TODAY.      

6.       If you are interested in taking the ACT, you will find updated flyers and information on the shelf outside Mrs. Munson's office.  You register online and the cost is $39.50 this year.  However, if you are a junior or senior that qualifies for free/reduced lunches you can use a fee waiver two times.  You will need to obtain the fee waiver from Mrs. Munson prior to registering. 

7.       We have softball t-shirts for sale. . .if interested see Mrs. Cottengim for an order form.

8.       Seniors don't forget we are having another meeting at lunch on Friday to finalize plans for the float.  Meet in Mrs. Simon's room (B105) with your lunch.  We need lots of help so please plan on helping if you can.

9.       Found: A calculator . . .see Connie to claim.

10.    The Interact meeting scheduled for today has been rescheduled for next Tuesday.

2.       Sophomores- we need your help with the homecoming float! Come to Mrs. Talbot's room TODAY during LUNCH if you want to help!  You can bring your lunch to the meeting.

3.       Reminder: When you attend ANY extracurricular or athletic event at school, you are subject to the dress code and code of conduct. If you are in violation of either code, you may be asked to leave the event.

5.       Anyone interested in being a part of Interact Club come to Mrs. Talbot's room Thursday during 1st lunch. Interact Club is about serving the community and school through service projects. Come find out what it’s all about!

1.  6th Grade Parent Night is TODAY from 5:45 - 6:30 p.m. in the Auditorium!!  Mr. Cochran will have Instrument Night immediately following at 6:30 p.m. 

2.  Starting TODAY, we will begin saying the Pledge of Allegiance again on the first morning of each week, shortly after the 8:15 bell.  A pledge leader will lead us in the pledge over the intercom.  When the pledge leader says "please rise and join me in saying the Pledge of Allegiance," we will all rise and the pledge will be recited.  Pledge leaders will be selected from a drawing that includes all students with 0 ZAPs.  

***Don't forget that we offer The Bear Box as a way of reporting Bully-type behavior.  If you witness or experience Bullying, feel free to write a note describing the situation, sign it and drop it in The Bear Box which is located in the main office.  Notes that are unsigned unfortunately cannot be addressed, we need to know who to speak with.  ALWAYS report bullying behavior, through The Bear Box or tell an adult.  We cannot help you if we do not know that something is happening.

3.     THREE more workers are NEEDED to work the concession stand TONIGHT.  JUNIORS ARE EXPECTED TO DO THIS, but others may also work.  Prom will not be booked off campus until all the sign-up sheet is full!

4.     Board game meeting in Mr. Wickens classroom TODAY directly after school. Come by and see what we are about this is a preliminary meeting that will last about 90 minutes.

5.     On Saturday Jeffery Russell of X-minds Design & Catering will be selling pulled pork sandwiches and sides at G & W Foods from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Along with this Parent’s and Volleyball supporters have donated bake goods for sale. Come support your Willow Springs Lady Volley Bears with a tasty lunch and or a baked item.

7.     Credit recovery has begun!  Hours are 3:00 – 5:00 Monday through Thursday.  You must arrive by 3:30.  Credit recovery is located in the rock house behind the superintendent’s office.

8.     Three Rivers will be offering a Welding class at the Willow Springs campus, starting September 1.  Classes will run 4 weeks, 2 nights a week, 3 hours each class.  If you would like more information, contact Scott Williamson at 417-469-3000.

9.     The MASL Readers Awards Committees are still looking for volunteers to serve as Reader/Selectors for this year.
Reader selectors read the preliminary nominee list of 20-25 books between August and December and rate the books to determine which ones will be on the final list of nominees for the following school year.
If you are interested in joining, please see Coach Pitts to sign up.

10.   Students if you are unable to get on the computer you may need to turn in your technology agreement or come by the library and sign your agreement.

Coffee shop is open 7:50-8:10. Come see us!! All drinks are under $1.
