1.    Picture Re-Takes will be next week on Wednesday Oct. 4th. If you need a picture form they are available in the Student Info Center. 

2.    Coach Johnson's 8th (last block class) will meet in the new gym today.

3.    TODAY: All 8th grade Vo-Ag and FACS students report to Grimes Auditorium at the beginning of W8 on Friday.  Bring homework from your other classes to work on before the parade.  Also bring all of your things that you will be taking home as you will not be returning to your lockers before dismissal to go home.

4.    TODAY we will be attending the Homecoming Parade and Pep Assembly. The parade will start at 2:00 p.m. at Booster Field.  There will be an all-call at 2:10 p.m. prompting all Middle School classes to line up with their teachers along Ferguson Street in front of the Middle School Building.  Students will need to bring all their stuff as they will be going straight from the parade to the Pep Assembly. From there they will be dismissed from school. All students will be expected to be responsible about throwing any candy wrappers from the parade; leaving wrappers on the ground is not acceptable.

5.    Students belonging to the following Middle School teams will be participating in the Parade on Friday:

Volleyball
Football
Mighty Mites
8th Grade Marching Band students
Cross Country
These students will need to be dismissed at 1:15 p.m. on Friday to report to the bus lot to board buses headed to the start of the Parade at Booster Field. 

Middle School will be using Bus#14 and Bus#16. Students should take all of their things with them so that they are prepared to leave for home directly from the Pep Assembly following the parade.

All first year members or those who have never attended the Area Greenhand Conference arrive at 4:50. If you have official dress that is what you need to wear. If you do NOT you need to dress nice for the event. Blue jeans and a polo style shirt is fine. NO SHORTS, NO T-shirts unless it is an FFA T-Shirt.

6. Freshman will be working on parade decorations after school today until 4pm in Ms. Berry's room.

Mr. Spence has agreed that the winning door will receive a pizza party for that beartime group that wins.  Judges will come through the halls Friday and make their selection.  We will begin decorating on Tuesday since beartimes will be changing next week and all changes should be completed by then.  ALL TIERS may participate, but it is completely up to your beartime teacher.  Good luck and if you have any questions please let Mrs. Lee know.

1.     Picture Re-Take's will be next week on Wednesday Oct. 4th. If you need a picture form they are available in the Student Info Center. 

2.     This Thursday will be the primary election for Student Council.  There are a number of candidates running in the election from Grades 5, 6, and 7.  On Thursday, during M4, students in these three grades will vote on the candidates from their respective grades.  Candidates will be introduced at their grade's lunch period Thursday prior to the election. 

3.      Friday we will be attending the Homecoming Parade and Pep Assembly. The parade will start at 2:00 p.m. at Booster Field.  There will be an all-call at 2:10 p.m. prompting all Middle School classes to line up with their teachers along Ferguson Street in front of the Middle School Building.  Students will need to bring all their stuff as they will be going straight from the parade to the Pep Assembly. Floats/decorations should be Television-themed, though they do not need to adhere to the above-named shows - feel free to pick your favorite.
 
6.     This week we will be having a door decorating contest for HS Beartime classes.  Would love for all groups to participate.  Door themes will be TV Shows/WS Bears. Mr. Spence has agreed that the winning door will receive a pizza party for that beartime group that wins.  Judges will come through the halls Friday and make their selection.  We will begin decorating on Tuesday since beartimes will be changing next week and all changes should be completed by then.  ALL TIERS may participate, but it is completely up to your beartime teacher.  Good luck and if you have any questions please let Mrs. Lee know.  
 
7.     Homecoming Friday Schedule:
1:30 - Students participating in parade dismissed to ride down to Booster Field for parade line-up.
2:00 - Parade Begins
2:10 - Students dismissed to gym to view parade.
2:30-3:00 - Pep rally in gym.
6:30 - Coronation
7:00 - Kickoff
 
8.     Dodgeball Tournament for Cystic Fibrosis - Nov. 4 @ Munford Gym. $10 a person or $60 a group. Teams of 6. To register contact MaKenzie Eggert at 855-9236. MaKenzie also has t-shirts available for $12. All proceed from the event will go towards cystic fibrosis research.

2. ALL STUDENTS CHECK YOUR EMAIL TODAY FOR AN IMPORTANT HOMECOMING ITEM. Cast your vote about the Homecoming Dance TODAY!!!

3. The ACT registration deadline for the October 28 test is today.  If you are a junior or senior who qualifies for free or reduced lunches you can take the ACT twice free of charge.  See Mrs. Munson for the fee waiver prior to registering. 

4. Board Game Club meeting today, open gaming will last approximately 5 hours. Discussions will include officers, shirts and field trips.

5. Freshman-There will be a meeting today for any freshman interested in helping with the Freshman Homecoming Float.  Meet Ms. Berry in the library during second Bear Time. 

6. Seniors- There will be a meeting today for anyone interested in helping with the Senior Homecoming Float in Ms. Martin's room today during BEAR Time! Those who work on the float will be able to ride on the float.

7. Knights of the Square Table Chess Tournament will take place in West Plains tomorrow. Bus leaves from new gym 8:30 sharp. $5 entry fee, concessions available. Let Serghei know ASAP if you are going.

8. Boys’ Basketball player's that are not in a fall sport will begin pre-season workouts on Monday September 25th at 7:15 a.m. at the New Gym. This is for anyone that is interested in playing basketball and not in a fall sport.

1.    Next week is Spirit Week for Homecoming! There will be a dress-up theme for each day.  Please note as with all Spirit Weeks before , no face painting allowed.  Hats will be permitted when they fit the day's theme.  Students will be expected to be 100%  cooperative with teacher direction in all cases when hats need to be removed during class.  

       Theme this year will be: TV Shows
Mash-Monday-Fitting in with the 4077 means wearing drab green and/or some kind of camo
Miami Vice-Tuesday-To be as righteous as Crockett & Tubs ~you'll need bright colors, pastels, acid wash jeans, white pants, loafers or wide-lapel jackets
Scooby Doo-Wednesday-Jenkies! White shirt and blue pants, orange sweater and a skirt, a purple dress, a green shirt with brown slacks or just a brown hoodie with spots and you'll be a certified member of Mystery Incorporated
The Lone Ranger- Thursday-Western wear is the name of the game. As western as you can go! 
When Animals Attack-Friday- MAROON and WHITE FRIDAY
2.    All 7th and 8th graders interested in trying out for cheerleading for the 2017-2018 Boys' Basketball season can pick up a packet from Mrs. Stacey in the Middle School Office.

3.    National Walk to School Day will be held on October 4th. Ryan Tompkins is hosting this event as his Senior Project. If you are interested in signing up, pick up a permission slip at the Student Info Center. Permission slips are due TODAY.

Monday: 5th/6th Grade Pee Wee Girls, Home Game@Old Gym-Players need to be at the gym at 5:15 p.m. Please do not stay after school, Coach Tilley will not be at the gym until 4:30 p.m.

Monday: 7th/8th Volleyball-WS vs Cabool-Home, Games starts at 5:30 p.m.

Tuesday: 5th/6th Cross Country- WS @ Mtn.Grove- Away, Meet starts at 3:00 p.m. Dismiss students at 2:15 p.m., Bus leaves at 2:30 p.m.

Thursday: 7th/8th Football-WS vs Ava-Home, Games starts at 5:30 p.m.
