  3. You are invited to this weeks All Girls Devo group that will meet Thursday in the HS Library led by Jade Roberts. All HS girls are invited to attend. Breakfast will be provided.  

  4. FBLA and FCCLA members and cheerleaders that are participating in The Golden Age Games on Friday there will be mandatory practice to learn the chants Thursday.  1st lunch in Mrs. Grogan’s room and 2nd lunch in Mrs. Pettit’s room.

  5. There will be a senior class officer's meeting in Ms. Spencer's room during both lunches Thursday for Tier 1, and during 2nd lunch for tier 2 & 3 officers.  Grab your lunch and bring it to her room.

  6. Friday is the last day to be entered to win a FREE iPad Mini!  Buy a yearbook by 2:30 Friday afternoon online or through the school and your name will be entered into the drawing.  The winner will be announced and walk out the door with his or her new iPad Friday before the end of school.  Buy now!  Prices will go up throughout the year.

  7. Any one playing basketball who did not participate in a fall sport needs to turn in their physical paperwork (Physical, Consent, Insurance, Drug) ASAP. It needs to be turned in to Coach Bunch, Coach Forrest or Coach Mallow (not the main office). It must be turned on before you can practice, but we would like to have it this week.

  8. FCCLA Reminder: $5 is due to Mrs. Walls by Friday to go to Region 9 meeting.

  2. Boys basketball players need to see Coach Mallow for a shoe order flyer.  Orders are due TODAY.
  3. Torey Tice from Skeeter-Kell Sporting Goods will be here TODAY to take letter jacket and patch orders. Athletes must have a signed sheet from their respective coaches verifying they have lettered and are entitled to any patch they order.  You must have a $100 deposit for the jacket order.   He will be in Munford Gymnasium immediately after school.

  3. Remind your parents that parent/teacher conferences are TODAY 1:00-7:00 in Grimes Auditorium.  It’s a great time for parents to hear what a good job you are doing in class.
  4. GAP meeting TODAY at 11:15.  Students will need to pick up their lunch in the Bears Den and eat in their GAP advisors room.  Students if you forgot where to go for GAP, stop by and look on the window at the top of the ramp in the library.  School will dismiss at 11:37. 
  5. Since we are out of school early, there will be NO CREDIT RECOVERY today.
  6. Mrs. Brower still needs 2 more workers for Friday night’s concession stand.

1.  7th grade athletic students talk to Coach Gutscher to find out where you need to go for W-7. 2.  First Quarter Rewards Activities for students with 95% attendance or better will be as follows in Grimes Auditorium:

  • 5th grade   8:30 a.m.
  • 6th grade   9:30 a.m.
3.  School will be in session until 11:45 a.m. today.  Parent/Teacher Conferences will be from 1:00-7:00 p.m.  No school on Friday.
4.  Students will remain in their second block classes until the dismissal bell rings at 11:35 a.m.  They will eat sack lunches in their second block classes.  The lunch line schedule will be as follows:
           10:30 a.m. - 6th grade
           10:40 a.m. - 8th grade
           10:50 a.m. - 7th grade
           11:00 a.m. - 5th grade     
5.  During our recent drive to collect clothing items for children, it was our 8th Grade who brought in the most items for the Middle School.  Congratulations, 8th Grade, on this achievement!  You may look forward to a popsicle reward after your lunch today.  Thank you to everyone who participated for helping to make the clothing drive a success.

  2. Board Game Club meeting in Mr. Wickens' room TODAY directly after school until 8:00 pm, all are welcome.
  3. Mrs. Brower needs 6 (yes, 6) workers to sign up to work next Friday nights football game.  Even though school is out that day, the concession stand must still be open!
  4. Thanks to some boys who apparently can't spell and don't know east from west, the boys bathroom will be closed again. The closure will last the rest of October. Teachers do NOT allow boys out of class to use the restroom, unless it is an emergency. In the case of an emergency, the student must check in with the office.
  5. Students who have overdue books need to get them in or renewed TODAY to avoid fines. We have given you FREE FINE first quarter, so there will be NO free find days!
  6. The second volume of "The Enchanted Enquirer" is now available! Check out all of the happenings in Middle-earth and see how the Company is progressing on their way to the Lonely Mountain. Get your free copy in the kiosk outside of Miss Tina's window!
  7. If you registered to take the October 24 ACT here at Willow Springs, you should have received an email from ACT with your new testing center assignment.  Since there were not at least 16 students registered to test at this location, they have moved you to a different testing center.  If you have questions, see Mrs. Munson. 
  8. FFA members this Saturday is the Willow Springs cattle working at 9:00 am.. Sign up on the board in the AG building. Need several teams to participate we are hosting the event we don't need to be a no show at our own event.

1.  The library will be closed for check out from 8-9 a.m. next week due to the book fair. Remember, you may only come to the book fair next week if you ask permission from your teacher and have money to purchase book fair items.

2.  The Scholastic Book Fair will be October 12 - October 15 in the Middle School Library. We'll be open from 8-3 on October 12, 13 and 14. On October 15 we'll be open from 8-11:30 and from 1-7.

3.  Activewater 5K run and 1 mile walk will be Saturday, October 10th, at Galloway Park in West Plains.  See the Student Info Center for more information.

Hallway Music: Gone Country! Friday - Student Requests

  1. There will be no credit recovery TODAY.  Just a reminder that credit recovery is Monday through Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.  You must arrive by 3:30.

  2. The Medical Explorers Program is BACK!  If you are interested in the medical field and would like to get hands-on experience, you might be interested in this volunteer program offered at Mercy St. Francis in Mt. View.  Mrs. Munson will hold an informational meeting during both BEAR times TODAY in the Library. If you are not able to attend the meeting, see Mrs. Munson during transition times.

Mrs. Miller will be teaching a morning Boot Camp class at 6:30 a.m. and will be offered every day. Coach Pitts will be teaching an AMRAP class on Monday and Thursday's from 6:15-7:00 p.m. Bring a friend, your mom, or your sister and come get healthy! See Coach Pitts if you have any questions.
