3.    Plans for TODAY. . .
•    11:10 am:  juniors and seniors will be dismissed to pick up sack lunches and return to eat in GAP. 
•    11:15 am:  freshmen and sophomores will pick up sack lunches and eat in GAP. 
•    We will be dismissed for Christmas Break with the 11:37 am bell.
•    Teachers. . .Please have a responsible student take your trash out before we are dismissed.
4.    Congratulations to Linsey Brook and Rebecca Picard for being chosen to participate in the 2016 Missouri Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) Legislative Shadowing Program!
5.    Thank you to all the students and faculty that helped make Bears For A Better Christmas a success.  403 children will have a better Christmas because of your donation of toys, books, warm items, money, or your time.  Merry Christmas!
6.    Grades will be calculated and sent out on Monday, January 4.  We will not be able to have new BEAR times posted until later in that week.

Any 5th or 6th grade girls interested in participating in Willow Springs Club Bear Volleyball can find information at the Student Info Center. 
1.  Second Quarter Rewards Activities for students with zero ZAPs and one ZAP will be as follows in Grimes:
  • 7th & 8th grade - TODAY - 8:30-10:30 a.m.
2.  The seventh grade pulled out the victory for Food Harvest.  The 7th graders will be receiving an ice cream treat during lunchtime sometime after we return from Christmas vacation as a reward.
3.   School will be dismissed TODAY at 11:45 a.m.  There will no school December 23rd through January 4th.  Classes will resume on Tuesday, January 5th, with a Maroon Day.
4.  TODAY students will remain in their second block classes until the dismissal bell rings at 11:35 a.m.  They will eat sack lunches in their second block classes.  The lunch line schedule will be as follows:
  10:30 a.m. - 6th grade
  10:40 a.m. - 7th grade
  10:50 a.m. - 5th grade

  1. Friendly Reminder:  Internship assignments are due TODAY. 

  2. Letter jackets will be delivered TODAY at 11:15 in the commons area.  Checks need to be made payable to Skeeter Kell Sporting Goods.

School pictures, for those students that did not have their pictures taken during our previous picture days, is Friday at 8:15 in the Auditorium.  If students wish to purchase a packet they will have to contact Lifetouch after the pictures are taken.  The students need to report to Miss Connie’s office as soon as the first bell rings Friday @ 8:15.
  4. Reminder to all Candidates and Escorts:  We will be having Hoop Queen Court practice tomorrow (Friday) morning at 8:30 am.  Report to your first block class and get roll taken, then report to the commons area. We can get this done quickly if everyone shows up in a timely manner. 
  5. Due to many students' family holiday events and the premiere of Star Wars The Force Awakens, we will not be having a dance following the basketball game Friday night.
  6. Hopefully everyone got their donations for the Food Harvest to their GAP’s room.  The winner of the pizza party will be announced tomorrow. 
  7. Willow chess team took part in the Central Ozarks chess tournament in WP last Saturday. Brett Kelley was 5th, Alex Sheehan 14th, Emily Ryan 23rd in a competitive HS division, winning fourth team.  Middle school and elementary was third overall.  Good job! Next tournament is at home on Jan 16.
  8. This is the last week to purchase a candycane-gram.

Friday Lunch:  COOKS CHOICE

​1.  This week is SPIRIT WEEK FOR HOOP QUEEN.  It's A Winter Wonderland.  We will be "Dressing" up as follows: 
 Friday - Blizzard Conditions! - It's a total white-out...wear all whites.
**Please note as with all other Spirit weeks before, no face painting allowed.  Hats will be permitted when they fit a particular day's theme.  Students will be expected to be 100% cooperative with teacher direction in all cases when hats need to be removed during class.
 2.  Willow Chess Team took part in the Central Ozarks chess tournament in WP last Saturday.  Patrick Burch was undefeated in second place, Auston Burgess-14th, Drake Marshell-17th, Alyosha Dudko-29th, Owen Moore-30th, Colton Wood-31st, Kyle Nabors-32nd, Gennadiy Dudko-33rd, and Rogan Traver-34th in a very competitive MS Division, winning third as a team.  High school was fourth and elementary was third overall.  GOOD JOB! Next tournament is at home on January 16th.   
3.   School pictures, for those students that did not have their pictures taken during our previous picture days, is December 18th at 8:15 in the Middle School Auditorium.  If students wish to purchase a packet they will have to contact Lifetouch after the pictures are taken.  We will start with high school, followed by middle school and then elementary.
4.  Cheerleading Picture Schedule for December 18th:  8th grade cheerleaders will eat with the 7th graders at 11:15 a.m.  Instead of going to recess at 11:35 a.m. all MS Cheerleaders will change into their uniforms and meet in the new gym. 
5.  Next Art Club meeting will take place TODAY from 3:00-5:00 p.m. which is our Christmas Party.  Please bring one finger food to share with the group.
6.   FCCLA and FBLA MUNCH FOOD HARVEST will be December 1st-December 17th.  Bring in cans and nonperishable items to help families in need.  Each grade level will have a collection box.  The winning grade in Middle School will receive a surprise at lunch following the contest.

  2. Anyone signed up to go Christmas shopping TONIGHT that needs a ride in the school suburban may meet Coach Waggoner at the new gym by 4:00.  Everyone who is driving will meet at Walmart at 4:30 on the pharmacy side.  See Mrs. Brower if you have questions.

  3. Because of the final exam schedule, we will be unable to have a traditional pep rally on Friday. Fear not, though, student body because we will be having games and activities Tuesday through Friday at lunch! You will only be eligible to participate in the games if you are dressed for Spirit Week. (Don't let that stop you from dressing up, though, because no one will be forced to play!)

  4. There will be a representative from Columbia College in the Bears Den during lunch on Wednesday.  Any interested junior or senior can visit with her and obtain information about the college.

  5. Found:  A phone was found on bus 8. . .see Connie to claim.

  6. Junior Class T-shirts have arrived!  Mrs. Brower has few extras for $12 if you are interested. The first one with money in hand can buy them. There is a small, 2 mediums, and 1 large available.

  7. This is the last week to purchase a candycane-gram.  They are on sale at lunch in the Bear's Den each day through Friday.  They will be delivered on Monday the 21st!  You can send them to any building on campus for just $1!

  1. Junior Class T-shirts have arrived!  Mrs. Brower has few extras for $12 if you are interested. The first one with money in hand can buy them. There is a small, 2 mediums, and 1 large available.

  2. This is the last week to purchase a candycane-gram.  They are on sale at lunch in the Bear's Den each day through Friday.  They will be delivered on Monday the 21st!  You can send them to any building on campus for just $1!
