1. It is the beginning of 2nd Quarter. Students with 0 ZAPS or 1 ZAP during 2nd Quarter will participate in a reward activity at the end of 2nd Quarter. Students who have more than 1 ZAP (even if the additional ZAPS are later forgiven) will not be included in the reward activity.
Students who have at least 95 % attendance or better for 1st and 2nd Quarters combined at the end of 2nd Quarter will be entered into a drawing for a $35 gift card. Two names will be drawn.

2. The Middle School Science Fair will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 24, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in Grimes Auditorium (7th and 8th grade) and the Bears' Den (5th and 6th grade).
3. Reward activities for students with 95% attendance or higher during 1st quarter will take place this week on the following days:
Thursday: 5th grade at 8:30-9:10, 6th grade at 9:30-10:10
School will dismiss at 12:45 TODAY for Parent/Teacher Conferences. Conferences will be from 2:00-7:00 that evening. There is no school on Friday, Oct. 20, for Fall Break.
4. Red Ribbon week is October 23-27. We will be dressing up this week. Each day students can dress up in fun and creative ways to help represent that they have made the right choices and chose to stay drug free. Hats and other items need to be appropriate and follow each day along with the school's dress code. Hats will be permitted when they fit the day's theme. NO face painting allowed.
Monday-Be proud to make good choices and staying drug free. Wear your red to start off the first day of Red Ribbon Week.
Tuesday- Be smart, make good choices to keep staying drug free. Dress up as a nerd to show that you're to smart and will make good choices and stay drug free.
Wednesday- Make good choices and team up against drugs. Wear your favorite team jersey to help team up against drugs.
Thursday- Make good choices and give drugs the 'boot.' Dress up as a cowboy/cowgirl to help give drugs the boot!
Friday- Wear your school colors to show that you're school has made good choices and stayed drug free.
The YMCA is registering now for 5th-6th grade boys and girls basketball. Registration forms are available at the M.S. Student Info Center and also at the YMCA. The deadline to sign up is November 1, 5:00p.m.
