Wednesday Vision:
During Bulletin announcements this morning, please review the Bear Paw of compassion and share that the Pennies for Patients program starting next week will be an opportunity for all Middle School Bears to demonstrate compassion. Then share the following facts about leukemia and Pennies for Patients, and use the provided line to show a 1.5 minute video highlighting survivors.
Leukemia is the most common cancer in children, adolescents, and young adults. It causes more deaths than any other type of cancer among this age group. In 2014, approximately 4,103 children and adolescents in the U.S. were diagnosed with leukemia.
The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is the leading source of free blood cancer information, education and support.
The Pennies for Patients fundraiser is a nationwide program; 29,000 schools across the US raise funds to help people who are sick with blood cancers like leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma.
Honored Heroes are survivors of blood cancers. A short video will allow our MS Bears to meet some survivors.

Willow Springs Middle School will kick-off our 2-week Pennies for Patients for Patients collection window on Monday, February 6th. Last year our Bears were very generous and raised $1,076.06.
